HAWKS WIN JOUST WITH ROYAL KNIGHTS

It was the show case game of last year all over again. Your Hawks were in complete control and out played the Royal Knights in most facets of the game but were thwarted by the performance of the Royal Knight tender. On numerous occasions he was forced to make incredible saves giving his team a chance to win it. He was credited with 45 saves and the Hawks must have had at least another dozen opportunities to score but failed to hit the net. 
River East would get the first goal of the game at the 11:49 mark of the first period and five minutes later Ryan Hutton would tie it all up with an assist going to Reg Bowles. It would stay knotted at one until the 9:05 mark of the third period when Cole Ferguson would notch his first as a Hawk and provide the Hawks with their winning margin of 2 – 1. Earning assists on the winner would be JP Lovell and Beau Zelenewich. 
Hawks would go 0 – 2 on the PP and kill off all three of the Royal Knights man advantage opportunities. Hawks out shot the Royal Knights by a 47 – 23 margin. Ryan Hall stopped 22 of the 23 shots directed his way to earn his first victory of the season and of his MM career.

Hawks now have a bit of a break and next hit the slippery surface on Thursday, Oct. 27 at the Southdale Arena against the only team that has beaten them this season. Should be a dandy! Puck drop is 7:30 P.M.
