The St. Vital Victorias and the Hawks ended the 2014 – 15 season at the Eric Coy Arena Sunday night. Both teams were missing key players from their line-ups due to injuries and used a couple of affiliated players to fill their rosters. K C Mason would stake the Vics to an early one goal lead at the 8:19 mark of the second period. 67 seconds later Ryan Hutton would score his 13th of the season to knot the game at one. Later in the period James Bergal would score the eventual winner and Riley Court would add two insurance goals to the mix (one late in the second period and a real pretty one compliments of a slick move late in the third).
Vics tender Johnny Hawash took the loss while facing 34 Hawk shots. Notching the win for the Hawks with 30 saves was Andrew Derwin.
These teams will do it all over again on Tuesday at the Coy in the first game of the MMJHL quarter-final series. Puck drops at 7:30 P.M. Hope to see you there, should be a GREAT series!
