Thanks Nixy…

To our Hawks Family & Fans,

Coach Kyle Nixon has announced he’ll be leaving the Charleswood Hawks to pursue other coaching & educational opportunities. As head coach, he strived not only for a winning team, but to ensure that each player to come through the Hawks’ program become strong, dedicated community leaders.  We’re happy to say that he achieved the goal.

Kyle began his coaching career in 2013 with the Charleswood Hawks as an assistant coach. Then Team President Wayne Deschouwer saw potential in Kyle and promoted him to head coach in 2016.  Determined to be an elite coach for his players, he received his High Performance 1 Status in 2017.  With Adam Rath at his side, they worked tirelessly together with their players to ensure the product on the ice was ready each and every night.  Just prior to playoffs in March 2020 when COVID-19 hit, the Charleswood Hawks had one of the best second half records in the MMJHL with Kyle playing a pivotal role during that time.  Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to see just how far our team could have come in the 2019-20 season.

On behalf of the board, staff, past, and present players, we’d like to wish Kyle all the luck and success he deserves. We’re certain he’ll make a significant impact in whatever he chooses to do next.

Thanks Nixy.

Sincerely
Tim Scharer
