Final: 4-1 St. Vital

Strange that St. Vital sits in second place in the standings. They don’t exit their zone with the flair, confidence or accuracy of most of our opponents. They are susceptible to the forecheck in a big way.

Two bad bounces and one other goal against when Wiens was being held to his post by an opponent while the puck was placed in the gaping cage. Ref, come on…you spoiled a game that was tightening up…2-1 and on the boil.

Sam Maxwell is respected and feared by every other team and gets better every game. Keep it up, Sam!

Gardiner was flying on the forecheck and basically stole the puck from two on-looking Victorias at their blue line, made a super pass to Seremet and in the net it went. Minutes later a similar puck just eluded Seremet again who had snuck into the clear. Down 3-1 in the third we put eight or nine shifts together in a row that saw St. Vital gasping for breath but we couldn’t buy another marker.

We have a light schedule for the next two weeks and our missing regulars are on the mend.

Sunday we play a team tied with us, with two games in hand…let’s go get two big points.
