Game 2 was another close one between your Charleswood Hawks and the Pembina Valley Twisters. After a thrilling double OT game on Friday night, the Hawks were looking to tie up the series.
The Twisters would go up 1-0 after 20 minutes of play, but the 2nd period saw plenty of action as Pembina would find the back of the net twice more, however Joben Smith would put your Hawks on the board at 8:56 with the assists from Nolan Sekundiak and Austin Hesselbart. Pembina would get into some penalty problems late in the 2nd and Matt Lawrence would capitalize on it at the 18:39 mark to bring the Hawks within 1 goal after 40 minutes. The assist went to Joben Smith.

The 3rd period would prove to be even busier for the goaltenders as shots on goal in the frame would be 17-16 in favor of the Hawks. The Twisters would go up by 2 after scoring early in the period, however your captain, Spencer Ferbers, had something to say about that as he would get an unassisted goal at 9:28 of the period to bring the score within 1 again. Even with Ryan Hall being pulled to get the extra attacker in the dying minutes of the frame, the Hawks were just not able to tie things up as the final score would be 4-3 for Pembina.
With the series now being at 2-0 for Pembina, game 3 will go back to Morris this coming Wednesday. Considering how close the first 2 games have been, your Charleswood Hawks are hoping for the win in Morris. Puck drops at 7:30. We hope to see you there – It’ll be a dandy!
