Hawks Derailed

Your Charleswood Hawks took on the Transcona Railer Express last night with the hopes of ending our losing streak.

The first period saw Ryan Hall standing tall between the pipes as he stopped 16 shots in the first frame alone. Neither team was able to get one past a netminder in the first 20 minutes leaving us scoreless at the end of the first.

The 2nd period saw your Hawks out-shoot Transcona 10 – 8 but both goaltenders were solid as no one was able to find the back of the net. Who would get the scoring started?!

At 5:45 of the 3rd period, Joben Smith (assisted by Spencer Ferbers) was finally able to solve the Transcona goaltender as he found the back of the net. Less than 5 minutes later, the Railer Express were able to tie things up. They would add another 2 goals before 60 minutes of play were up, to end the game with a final score of 3-1.

Final shots on goal were 40-19, giving Ryan Hall a .925 save percentage.

Your Hawks now stand 4-6-3 on the season. We’re back home this coming Sunday, November 18 to take on the Pembina Valley Twisters. Puck drops at 3:45pm at Eric Coy – bring you family! Come support on your boys as we look to end our losing streak – it’ll be a dandy!
