Welcome back to the Coy everyone! Unfortunately, this is not the start to the season the Hawks and their fans had hoped for. Our Hawks were led onto the ice by flag bearers Kellan Isaac and Max George. Our captain for the 2018-2019 season was revealed, congratulations to Spencer Ferbers – who is also our current penalty minute leader. Wyatt Kembell opened the scoring in the first period for the St. James Canucks at 4:41. Max McLean, assisted by Sean Robinson, responded with a goal for your Hawks by the middle of the second period. The third period, as well as the OT period, saw no scoring. Both goalies faced 4 shooters in the shootout, the game was decided as Cam Danylchuk scored the game winner. Although the outcome was less than desirable, it was a well fought battle. Our Ryan Hall denied 43 of the 44 shots he faced. Our next game is Friday, October 5th at Eric Coy Arena when the Hawks take on the St. Boniface Riels – should be a dandy!
