On Friday night in the comfy confines of the Coy your Charleswood Hawks took down the Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins by a score of 2-1 in double overtime. The Twins came out swinging in this one out shooting the Hawks by a margin of 14-8 in the first period thanks in large part to 2 Twins powerplays.  As usual Ryan Hall provided some stellar play between the pipes for the Hawks blanking the Twins until just past the 8 minute mark of the second when Eric Lecuyer struck for the Twins on a feed from Jared Bucci to give the Twins the one goal lead. The third became a bit of a parade of Twins players heading to the penalty box giving the Hawks a couple of chances to convert with the man advantage, but they were unable despite outshooting the Twins 18-8 during the period. Then, in dramatic fashion Meyer Nell fed Trevor Szyda with a little over 2 minutes left for the equalizer that would send this one to overtime. The Hawks continued to push the play on the Twins in the second extra frame and a la Justin Williams “Mr.Clutch” Noah Robidoux ended the game and the series late in the second overtime period with the help of Spencer Ferbers and Meyer Nell.
