HAWKS DEFEAT TWINS 4-1, SERIES TIED AT ONE

Your Hawks soared out of the gate tonight at the Century Arena with every intention of tying up this series. Shea Gorenstein would ignite the offence at the 11:58 mark and less that 2 1/2 minutes later Max Gardiner would double the production. Meyer Nell would add a third tally at 16:48 to send the teams to the first period break with your Hawks out front by a 3 to nil margin. The second period would see only one goal scored and it came off the stick of Twin’s Captain David MacDonald. Half way through the third period Meyer Nell would light the lamp for the second time in the game and help restore the Hawk lead to three goals and that is how this one would end, Hawks 4 Twins 1. Earning a pair of assists tonight would be Riley Gilmore and Spencer Ferbers while Austin Hesselbart and Cam Petras would contribute to the cause with one each.

Ryan Hall would block 28 of the 29 shots directed his way by the Twins to earn the win and Mario Fiorentino, in the Twins net,  would stop 29 of the 33 Hawk. Hawks were 0 for 2 with the odd man advantage and the Twins went 0 for 1.

This series is now all knotted up at a game apiece and game # 3 is scheduled for Sunday, March 11th at the Eric Coy Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. The first two games of this series were exactly what was predicted, a hard, tough series. I don’t see anything happening to change that thought process. Should be a great game! See you at the Coy on Sunday night!
