Gilmore Leads Hawks to 5-4 OT Win

Overcoming an early 2-0 deficit in the first period, the Hawks managed to take an overtime decision 5-4 against the Royal Knights on Friday night. The boys drastically out shot the Royal Knights by a margin of 52-23 on the evening, but this one stayed close thanks in large part to the play of Evan Baty in the Royal Knights net. Meyer Nell had a pair of powerplay goals along with an assist on the game winner to help power the offence and for the second straight game Trevor Szyda put up a 2 goals and an assist. Adding to his 2 assists on the night, Riley Gilmore capped it with the overtime winner 2:59 into the extra frame to give the Hawks the win over the lowly Royal Knights who have now dropped 17 straight games.
