Hawks Roll Over Knights, 6-1

The powerplay finally came to life on Saturday night as your Charleswood Hawks downed the River East Royal Knights 6-1 in a chippy affair. James Najduch notched his first of the year to open up the scoring midway through the first, which received a quick response by Michal Wojciechowski of the Knights. Despite being a tie game for most of the first period, the Hawks dominated play out shooting the Knights 17-6. J.P. Lovell struck late in the frame for what would be his first of three goals on the evening to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. The second saw the start of the rough stuff that would put the Hawks on the powerplay 3 times and see them convert twice on it with goals by J.P. Lovell and Trevor Szyda.  The dislike between these two teams finally came to a head in the third that came to a head when Quinn Werbowski dropped the mitts with Dag Sinclair for a spirited sparring session. Noah Robidoux closed out the scoring on the powerplay with his third goal in the last five games to seal the victory.
