The Hawks survived a tight one on Friday night with a 2-1 victory over the Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins. The Twins managed to hold the Hawks in check until early in the third when newcomer Meyer Nell broke the game open on a pass from Spencer Ferbers.  Then, midway through the third Nell and Ferbers worked their magic again to give the Hawks the 2-0 lead. The Twins got on the board late in the third on a marker by Nolan Libbrecht to to make it interesting, but Ryan Hall was in usual form shutting the door to give the Hawks their 5th straight win.

The win takes the Hawks record to 16-4-3, which kept them 6 points back of the Raiders who posted a 4-1 win over their own on Friday night…Spencer Ferbers continued his hot streak with a pair of helpers to make it points in 5 straight for him…Ryan Hall was named MMJHL goalie of the month again in November with 5 wins to go along with a ridiculous 0.67 GAA and 0.997 save percentage…20 year old Boissevain, MB native Meyer Nell skated in his first game for the Hawks after spending last season with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings…the Hawks are back in action on Monday night looking to make it 6 straight as they head to St.B for a clash with the Riels at 7:30pm.
