The Red and Black Make it 4 straight…

In the words of old blue eyes Frank Sinatra, the best revenge is massive success and the Hawks did just that as they avenged a tough 3-2 overtime loss back on September 29th against the Jets at the Coy with a 2-1 overtime victory on Sunday night. Spencer Ferbers opened up the scoring in the first, which gives him a point or more in the last 4 straight. Midway through the second Hawk killer Chase Faulkner notched his 15th of the season on the powerplay to tie the game at one a piece. In the third period Ryan Hall held the fort by turning away 12 shots and 31 shots in total on the evening by the Jets whose GAA moves to an insane 1.07 with a 0.965 save percentage on the season. Then 2:21 into the overtime frame Trevor Szyda put one by Jets goalie Hunter Ploszay on a feed from J.P. Lovell for the win.

The victory puts the Hawks just 4 points back of the Raiders for 1st place in the league.  In addition to Spencer Ferbers 4 game scoring streak, J.P. Lovell and Mitch Justl recorded points on Sunday to give them points in their last 3 games. The boys look to make it 5 straight at the Coy on Friday against the 7th place Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins at 7:30pm…BE THERE!
