Hawks Clipped by Canucks…

It was a weekend to forget for the Charleswood Hawks as they dropped thier second straight game 5-1 to the St.James Canucks on Sunday Afternoon. The game was a tight affair until Kole Stockham cracked the score sheet with a goal at 7:12 of the second period, which was followed up by 2 more to give the Canucks a 3-0 lead heading into the third. Shane Kustra-Nelson put the Hawks back into the thick of it early in the third; however, Adam Thurlbeck notched his second of the game and the Canucks never looked back. Ben Thorlakson made his first start in 7 games for the Hawks, but wasn’t given a lot of help by the offense who managed to direct 30 shots towards the Canucks Nathan Cvar. The powerplay failed to convert again for the Hawks, which left the weekend o for 7 and now sits at 14.9% that is the second worst rate in the league. The Hawks look to get back on track next Friday as they make the journey over to the Seven Oaks Sportsplex to take on the league leading Raiders who are undefeated in their last 12 games.
