After a hard fought shootout win on Friday night, your Charleswood Hawks were looking to take that momentum to Transcona as we visited the Railers for a matinee game.
Unfortunately the Railers had plans of their own to bounce back from a 2 game losing skid as they would find the back of our net 3 times in the first 20 minutes while out-shooting us 14-4.
They would another 2 goals in the second frame before Joben Smith was finally able to solve their goaltender for his 10th on the season. The assists would go to Max Fisher and Mitch Justl. Before the 2nd was over, the Railers would add another 3 goals, making it 8-1 after 40 minutes of play.
The 3rd period saw Max Fisher get his 2nd point of the night as he found twine with the assist of Spencer Ferbersand Austin Hesselbart. It just wasn’t enough though as the Railers took the game with a final score of 8-2, giving your Hawks a 9-10-4 record on the season so far.
Time to move on to the next one now, as your Hawks are heading out to Morris this coming Tuesday, Dec 18th, to take on the Twisters for the first time this season in their home rink. Puck drop is at 8pm.
Then it’s one final home game before the holiday break on Dec 21st as we host the Victorias which will have a 7:30 puck drop. We hope to see you there!
That’s right folks, your Charleswood Hawks came out of their losing skid with hard fought game last night against the River East Royal Knights. The Knights were able to get on the board first with a goal in the early minutes of the 1st period, however Ben Wicha – with the assist from Austin Hesslebart – was able to tie things up at one a piece midway through 2nd frame.
Mitch Justl – with the assists from Kyle Nanton and Joben Smith – buried his 2nd of the season at just 45 seconds into the third period! Just over 3 minutes later, Joben Smith would add another tally to the score sheet, putting your Hawks up 3-1. The Knights would get one back, however Joben Smith would get the empty netter for his second of the night and 8th of the season to win the game at 4-2 in favor of your Hawks.
